QualityMetric Presentations During ISOQOL 2024 Conference

ISOQOL 2024

The QualityMetric team is attending the ISOQOL 31st Annual Conference. We’ll be contributing to ISOQOL 2024 through two symposiums, a research presentation, and two featured papers. Our scientists look forward to connecting with the global QOL community of researchers, clinicians, health care professionals, industry professionals, consultants and patient research partners.

Join us in Cologne, Germany from October 13–16 to see everything the International Society for Quality of Life Research has to offer and become more familiar with QualityMetric’s expertise in patient-reported outcomes and quality of life insights.

This year’s theme, “All Different Together: Showcasing a Variety of QOL Research,” highlights the broad spectrum of work being achieved in the field. The conference will explore trending topics within the quality of life framework, focusing on applications, methods and theory. Key discussions will address regulatory issues in digital health, PRO and non-PRO measures, technological applications and a larger historical perspective on health-related quality of life.

Symposium 6: Will it make a difference? Judging the impact of novel interventions at the group-level

Jakob Bjorner, MD PhD
October 16 | 8:00–9:15 AM

At concurrent ISOQOL Symposium 6, QualityMetric Chief Science Officer Jakob Bjorner, MD PhD, will be leading the presentation, “Developing benchmarks to help interpretation of group-level differences in patient-reported outcomes”. This session will discuss the importance of contextualizing group-level differences in PROs and explore innovative approaches to benchmarking.

Symposium 8: Lessons learned from diary-based patient-reported outcome measures: What case studies can teach us about design, testing, validation, interpretation, and implementation

Meaghan O’Connor, MTS MPH, Avery Rizio, PhD, Michelle Carty, PhD
October 16 | 8:00–9:15 AM

At concurrent ISOQOL Symposium 8, three QualityMetric team members will present on the topic of patient-reported outcome (PRO) diaries. Meaghan O’Connor, MTS MPH, will discuss designing a hybrid daily and event-based urination diary, sharing valuable insights from a content validity and feasibility/usability study. Avery Rizio, PhD, will delve into using multi-level modeling to test measurement models for complex episodic diaries with nested data. Michelle Carty, PhD, will explore how patient-reported diaries are used to support endpoints in clinical trials and FDA labeling. They aim to review what case studies can teach the community about design, testing, validation, interpretation and implementation.

Research Presentation: Using cognitive debriefing interviews to optimize measurement of health-related quality of life among adolescents and adults with hereditary angioedema – a rare disease

Broderick, L, Foster A, Waldman LT, Jacobs K
October 16

Multiple QualityMetric leaders will be presenting research on optimizing health-related quality of life measurement for adolescents and adults with hereditary angioedema (HAE) at the conference. Discover groundbreaking insights into improving the lives of patients with HAE and leveraging PRO measures to collect important input directly from patients.
