As SARS-CoV2 continues to devastate communities around the world, there’s an urgent need to understand how the pandemic and subsequent public health response may affect the well-being of the general population and key subgroups.
ORCHESTRA is a three-year international research project led by the University of Verona to measure the impact of the SARS-CoV2 pandemic. The SF-36v2® PRO health survey will help quantify patient experiences, predict healthcare utilization and evaluate work productivity and job loss.
Quantifying impairments in mental and physical health may help stakeholders and leadership teams identify areas of unmet need, evaluate interventions—such as Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) and telehealth resources—and inform future responses and health policies. Incorporating SF health surveys into therapeutic studies can help support a variety of research questions.

QualityMetric’s PRO survey measures eight health domains, leveraging authentic, patient-guided results and insights.
An MCS score can be derived from the SF-36v2® or SF-12v2® Mental Health Enhancement tools to classify individuals by depressive symptom severity.
An MCS score can be applied intentionally to classify patients with probable clinical depression and anxiety.
Strong correlations have been observed between MH scores and validated measures of depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder.
Established minimally important differences (MIDs) and minimally important changes (MICs) can highlight differences in scores between groups or within an individual over time.
Norm-based scoring and benchmarks allow scores to be compared to the average score in the general population and patients with depression.
The SF-12v2® can inform the relationship between community disaster events and health-related quality of life.
Validated PRO health surveys also measure large-scale emergencies.
